Custom Email Sender
Email Sender is the email address where your system emails will be sent from. Before adding Email Sender to the Custom Email Sender field, you are required to get the Email Sender setting done by updating DKIM & SPF records and verifying the email before using.
1. Setting up DKIM
DKIM is a DNS-based email authentication mechanism that helps us more effectively send mail on your behalf by allowing receivers to verify that we have permission to send your email.
To enable DKIM, please follow these 2 steps:
Step 1: Replace
yourdomain.cominmandrill._domainkey.yourdomain.comwith the domain you're setting up.Step 2: Create a
TXT recordformandrill._domainkey.yourdomain.comwith the belowDKIMvalue:
v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=MIGfMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQCrLHiExVd55zd/IQ/J/mRwSRMAocV/hMB3jXwaHH36d9NaVynQFYV8NaWi69c1veUtRzGt7yAioXqLj7Z4TeEUoOLgrKsn8YnckGs9i3B3tVFB+Ch/4mPhXWiNfNdynHWBcPcbJ8kjEQ2U8y78dHZj1YeRXXVvWob2OaKynO8/lQIDAQAB;
2. Setting up SPF
SPF is another DNS-based email authentication mechanism.
- If you don't yet have an
SPFrecord, you'll need to add one for your domain. At a minimum, the value should be as the following:
v=spf1 include:spf.mandrillapp.com ?all
- If you already have a
TXT recordwithSPFinformation, you'll need to add the following servers to that record by addinginclude:spf.mandrillapp.comto the record right before the last operator, which is usually?all,~all, or-all.
3. Email Verification
The last step in setting up your custom email sender is to verify the email.
Please provide us your email sender (admin@yourdomain.com for example) so that we can send a verification link to this email address.
Once you have received the verification email, please forward that email to us at support@botstar.com and we’ll handle the rest.
